There has been a number of juvenile black marlin getting around recently off Cairns. Unfortunately we are undertaking minor refit and haven’t had the chance to get out on this last week of great weather.
Juvenile Black marlin are great for light tackle sportsfishing and are found in the cooler months from July to September. These early indications are looking good for what hopefully should be a bumper season! Juvenile black marlin range from 20-150lb and the tackle used is generally 30lb test. Light tackle charters also offer a mixture of fish species including Sailfish, yellowfin tuna, spanish mackerel, wahoo, mahi mahi, giant trevally, coral trout and red emperor.
